Textual Analysis on Mojo

In this textual analysis i have decided to look at the magazine Mojo, this is a magazine that looks at mostly older music which will mean that target audience is at the older generation as they are the people who are going to either know or like the older music more, however it may be aimed at some particular teens that enjoy older music.
The front cover has a large black and white picture of an old celebrate; Leonard Cohen, this black and white large medium close up photo relates to the target audience of the magazine.
Because of the basic layout to the front cover the magazine has had to use alot cover lines mostly short sentences to attract the reader to buying it; they have done this is the simplistic colours such as white and grey which refers to the colour scheme of the front cover. However, they have also used effectively the colour red in the text to highlight the most important quotes and sentences which because of the colour people's eye will be draw to first. they will hep attract the reader into buying the magazine.
The strap line across the top of the page tells the viewer a few more bits of information about what is inside the magazine"Metallica the making of a monster" this play on words not only relates to the green picture of a member of Metallica it also give the viewer an interest to find out why its a monster in the making, enticing them to buy the magazine.
Finally, in the top let cover of the page the front cover says that it gives the buyer a free CD this will make more people want to buy the magazine as they feel they are getting more for their money, to add to this point the use of words like free, plus make the reader again feel the magazine is value for money.
