This is a Textual analysis of the magazine Q, the front cover of this magazine appears to be very blank and have little detail. However, i feel this front cover does have an certain impact on the audience especially to the male part of society, this is mostly because of the half naked picture of Lily Allen making eye contact with the reader, this gives the reader a feeling that she is trying to seduce you. The feeling with her next to two black panther's also give the reader the feeling that she has a dark, dangerous side. Both of these mixed together to make the reader want to find out more. i feel this idea of the two sides to her is backed up by the way the middle part which is text of Lily Allen's name is large and in half black half white this makes the reader feel that the composer of the magazine has tried to say there is a good and bad side to her, this can add to the interest of the reader.
In the top left hand side of the page there is a large red square with a white Q on it this advertises the magazine and also show the reader which magazine the are looking at. This title or logo has been used repeatedly on many different music magazines. Underneath the large Q in small white writing there is the magazine's slogan "a different take on music" this is quite a catchy piece of writing that while stay in people heads and can help them remember what magazine it was; it also makes people want to buy it because its "different".
In the top right hand corner of the front cover Q express what is involved in there magazine and caps the main highlights that is have reviewed such as big band names ("U2, Oasis and The stone Roses) these big band names make the reader feel more confident about buying the magazine as they feel they like the bands to so they will like the magazine. This is also in a simple black colour followed up with white smaller text underneath which gives information on each section.

The front cover has alot of referred words that will encourage the reader to want to buy it such as "exclusive","plus" and "Wicked" these words have been put into red text and also made quite large but spread all around the front cover this attracts the readers eye and also makes them want to at least have a look to see if they would like it.
